Element Selector tool

The MicroStation Element Selector tool is used to select and deselect elements for modification or manipulation. You can do this manually, by placing the screen pointer over the node and entering a data point. This tool lets you select multiple nodes to be worked on as a temporary group.

Element Selection tool settings

The Element Selector tool can be used in conjunction with the <Ctrl> key to select or deselect multiple nodes. You can also use a block, shape, circle, or line to select multiple nodes. You can also drag around the area containing the nodes you want to select. As you drag, a dynamic rectangle outlines the area. Use a left-right direction for inside selection and a right-left direction for overlap selection.

In the extended settings for the Element Selector window, tabs let you select elements by one or more attributes—Level, Color, Line, Style, Line Weight, Element Type, Element Class, Element Template, Text Style, Dimension Style, Multi-line Style, Transparency and Display Priority.
